WPPI 2025 Recap: Collaboration, Creativity, and A Whole Lot of Camera Action
Mar 23, 2025Whew! I just got back from WPPI in Las Vegas, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint. If you’ve never been, picture this: a massive crew of photographers, videographers, and content creators all in one space, sharing ideas, learning new tricks, and geeking out over gear. It was like summer camp… but for creatives with cameras.
One of my favorite parts? The people. There’s nothing like connecting with other photogs and content creators in real life. We weren’t just talking shop—we were out there making it happen. I linked up with some insanely talented folks, and we hit the streets (and the desert!) for some epic photo walks.

Speaking of photo walks… can we talk about the Valley of Fire? If you haven’t been, put it on your list. The landscape was unreal—like stepping onto another planet. We had cameras in hand, testing new ideas, chasing that golden light, and hyping each other up the whole time. It wasn’t just about snapping photos; it was about learning, experimenting, and collaborating in the moment. And honestly? That’s where the magic happens.
And can we talk about the collaboration? It was next level. I had the chance to connect and learn from some powerhouse leaders in this industry—like Tomayia Colvin, who’s always showing up and pouring into the creative community in a way that’s real, relatable, and packed with gems. Then there’s Monica Sigmon of Sigmon Taylor Photography, whose insight on running a luxury photography business had me rethinking my entire client experience (in the best way). Hearing them speak, and then having those real conversations in between sessions? Game-changer.
What I loved about WPPI was the balance between hands-on shooting and deep-dive learning. We had classes that covered everything from posing and editing to building sustainable businesses (because let’s be real, we’re not just here for pretty pictures!). Then we grabbed our gear and put it into practice—no waiting until you get home. Learning on the go is where it’s at.
As the founder of Innopreneur Academy, that mix of education and action really hit home. WPPI wasn’t just about creativity—it was a masterclass in innovation and entrepreneurship. Watching other creatives share their journeys, their wins, and their lessons was a reminder of why I launched Innopreneur Academy in the first place: to help creative entrepreneurs turn their ideas into something real—and profitable. Seeing leaders like Tomayia and Monica doing exactly that was both inspiring and affirming.

I’m leaving Vegas recharged, inspired, and ready to pour even more into my own community. I’m already brainstorming ways to bring some of these lessons back to Innopreneur Academy so we can all continue learning, collaborating, and growing together.
If you’ve ever thought about hitting up WPPI, this is your sign. Do it. And if you’re looking for a community to keep those creative fires burning (and your business thriving), come hang with us at Innopreneur Academy. We’re just getting started.
